Riley is having one of those nights where having Type 1 Diabetes feels overwhelming. As he struggles with worrying about his blood sugar levels and dealing with all the equipment that makes life with T1D complicated, he is anxious. Thankfully, Brave Me Headquarters gets an alert about Riley’s situation and they immediately jump in to help him. The friendly robot Nano arrives in Riley’s room to take him on a journey to boost his bravery. After Riley meets the stately lion Captain Conrad, they both prepare him for his visits to Medical Mountain, Emotion Ocean and Courage Canyon. Nano wants Riley to understand that knowledge is power and shows him exactly what is causing his diabetes. Then, Riley gets to speak directly with a doctor and nurse to learn even more and ask them any questions he has. Though his bravery level improves, Nano knows that Riley can reach even higher levels. When Riley visits Emotion Ocean and Courage Canyon, he discovers that there are kids exactly like him. These kids really relate to Riley and together he sees that he is not alone, he has incredible strength and he can get through anything with the love and support of his loved ones. Brave Me Headquarters will always be there if he needs them and as he travels back home he feels braver than ever. Though diabetes makes his life feel like a roller coaster sometimes, Riley truly does have the strength of a lion!
